Progress!  We've found an Internet address for over  95% of al the State and National Parks, and most state forests and wildlife areas,  and we're adding address and contact information daily.  We're working to add  more statue and national Forests, Preserves, and Wildlife Management information (and other federal lands, like BLM and Corps of Engineers)  Details for each park remain in the future.  If you know about a property, we'll consider adding your description of up to 50 words.  We're unable to pay for this, but will gladly give authorship credit.     A fierce battle took place at Stones River between December 31,

    1862 and January 2, 1863. General Bragg's Confederates withdrew

     after the battle, allowing General Rosecrans and the Union army

    to control middle Tennessee.

    Tennessee River, Tellico Lake is about 30 miles southwest of

    Knoxville.  From the dam, the clear waters of this 16,500 acre lake

    The Unaka Mountain Wilderness now contains a total of 4,496

     acres and is managed by the U.S. Forest Service. All of the

    wilderness is in the state of Tennessee.

    With its cool, clear water reflecting the surrounding mountains,

    Watauga Lake is one of the most beautiful in the entire TVA

    Watts Bar Lake is on the main Tennessee River in Loudon, Roane,

     Rhea, and Meigs counties.  Nearby towns include Oak Ridge,

    Kingston, Spring City, Loudon, Lenoir City, and Rockwood.   

    Knoxville is to the north and Chattanooga is to the south.

    only 72 acres surface area and 1.8 miles long -- and is situated

    just below Watauga Dam.  The Watauga Power Company built the
